We publish early because we believe in measuring from day one.
What a 79% is actually hiding.
Only 39% of 4th graders are proficient in math. By 8th grade, 27%. The gaps don't close. They grow. We wanted to understand why. We studied 240 students on one of the best adaptive math platforms on the market. Average accuracy: 79%. Students were struggling, and the platform's answer was to repeat the same content with penalties for getting it wrong. Kids weren't learning. They were anxious. 14 concept gaps per student were compounding underneath, and the system had no way to find them. It was treating symptoms. The disease was somewhere else entirely.
We found every one.
When those students started on Incept, the first session surfaced what months of repetition had missed. Every wrong answer traced back to the actual concept that was never learned. Not the problem they got wrong. The reason they got it wrong. Students who had been stuck for months started passing. Kids who used to dread math were choosing to do more. Not because the problems got easier. Because for the first time, someone diagnosed the real issue.

The research
One-on-one tutoring works. That was never the question.
In 1984, Benjamin Bloom proved that tutored students outperform 98% of their peers. The question was never whether it works. It was how to deliver it to everyone.
Around the same time, Siegfried Engelmann spent decades encoding what great teaching actually looks like into a precise methodology called Direct Instruction. When the U.S. government tested 22 teaching models across 79,000 students, Direct Instruction was the only one that worked across every measure. Two breakthroughs, one unsolved problem: nobody had the technology to deliver personalized pacing and verified instructional quality at the same time.
The timeline
Forty years of research. Two breakthroughs. One problem that technology can finally solve.
